Flag Collector is a 2D platformer developed in Flash. Players play through a variety of levels that test their abilities to precisely land jumps. With low-res sprite artwork, spike traps that instantly cause the player to lose a life, and a score that resets after a Game Over, this game was designed to be reminiscent of the unforgiving nature of early platformers. In retrospect, I've learned that there is a lot more to making a game hard than just making it unfair.
This game was developed individually for Interactive Digital Media during Fall in 2011. Programming included 2D collisions, simple kinematics for movement and jumping, and loading in levels from an XML file.
