Microsoft Bubble

Microsoft Bubble is a classic bubble shooter with additional unique mechanics, like blobs of color-changing bubbles and vines that grow over other bubbles, distrupting the player's plans. Careful use of "plus" bubbles launched by the player can extend the player's game by awarding additional moves, encouraging strategic play.

The game was developed by Arkadium in collaboration with the Microsoft Casual Games team, and is a spin-off of Arkadium's Bubble Shooter. The game uses Arkadium's in house Pixi.js-based engine. I was responsible for programming the game, and was the main point of contact for Microsoft on technical aspects of the game, as well as time estimation for features. This game required special handling of references to bubbles (essentially weak pointers), since many objects want to track bubbles which may have destroyed by the time they try to access them.
